It enables any token project to deploy a fully customizable reward system, referred to as a Moat, in a matter of minutes. Projects can define participation mechanics and reward flows without the need to build or manage complex smart contracts. Moats is built as a permissionless and decentralized protocol, allowing any team to launch and manage their own system without reliance on intermediaries. The platform is designed for clarity and usability across both participants and administrators. For users, it provides intuitive methods to stake, lock, or burn tokens while earning rewards through transparent and predictable mechanisms. For administrators, it offers streamlined deployment, flexible configuration, and efficient reward management without technical overhead. Each Moat operates as an isolated system, ensuring that every project maintains full sovereignty over its token economy while leveraging a shared and secure infrastructure. The protocol supports a wide range of token standards, including ERC20, ERC314, ERC404, and LP tokens, making it broadly compatible across the on chain ecosystem. At its core, Moats provides a permissionless and decentralized foundation for token reward systems, making token utility simple to deploy, easy to understand, and scalable across decentralized networks. ### History Moats has evolved through multiple iterations, each focused on strengthening usability, security, and decentralization. V1 launched in February 2025 and established the foundation for staking based reward systems. V2 followed in July 2025 with major improvements to flexibility, efficiency, and overall protocol design. V3 was released in December 2025 as a fully permissionless and audited deployment, enabling any project to create and manage a Moat without barriers or centralized control. This progression reflects a continued focus on building trustless infrastructure that reduces complexity while expanding capability. With V3, Moats operates as a decentralized public utility for token ecosystems. Projects can deploy staking, locking, or burning systems instantly, configure reward mechanisms aligned with their token model, and manage participation without custom development or custodial risk.
